Mehran sells his beautiful pickles, olives, and tonics at farmers markets around Los Angeles. I always make sure to have his pickled black garlic, lava olives, and at least one bottle of kvass in my fridge. Kvass is kind of tart and kind of sweet, fermented, and a little fizzy but not vinegar-y like kombucha can be. I have a little glass of this beet tonic or the spicy tomato one most mornings.
