Beautiful cookbook by former Chez Panisse chef Cal Peternell. Based off twelve recipes he taught his son over the phone while he was off at college. So sweet. Peternell tells you what basic ingredients and tools you need for a particular recipe, and then adds variations to expand your understanding. A great cookbook to gain confidence and build your repertoire. Highly recommend for anyone newer to cooking, but especially young men who don't know how to feed themselves but would like to!
