My mom makes this every year for Rosh Hashanah and now I do too. It's a beautiful and quite simple holiday (or regular day) meal that is warm, sweet, and still a little savory. It's very comforting in colder weather. I think the recipe may be paywalled by NYTimes, but if you can't access it all you need to know is that it's roast chicken with figs and a bunch of orange slices. I believe you can take it from there. They say 1 lb of figs but I say add more than that because they cook down deliciously like fig jam and really make the dish.
