Not taking the freeway

Posting from my car (parked) after taking the 110 to the 101. I’ve only driven on the freeway five times, and I’m fine with that. I love driving, just not there. Nothing makes me more tense or gives me more back pain. I’ve only had a car for a year, and I know I’ll have a better experience on the freeway once I spend more time on it, but FOR NOW I’m happy to avoid it when appropriate (with the exception of beautiful PCH). Surface streets are so much more interesting anyway, and Eve Babitz didn’t take the freeway either, how's that for good company?
